5 Tried & True Ways to support your Optimal WELLth this winter!
In the winter, it can sometimes feel tough to have the energy you need to live life to its fullest.  Since we love winter here at Soul Meets Body, we decided to share some of our tips for not only surviving, but completely thriving during the darkest, coldest months of the year.  Are you Ready???
  1. Embrace the Cold. Sometimes, just a shift in mindset can be helpful when it comes to making the most of winter. Try to get outside and into the fresh air; dress in warm layers and invest in the right gear – maybe even try a new sport, like cross country skiing– Christine has fallen in love with outdoor option this winter (low-impact, full body activity) that allows her to take in nature’s beauty.  (Remember: Take in nature’s beauty with all 5 senses)
  2. Focus on Sunlight exposure/ RLT/Vitamin D. Less sunlight in the winter can impact your circadian rhythm as well as the release of melatonin. To combat these effects, try to get outside in early morning hours (try for 10-30 minutes even if it is cold)  + download the DMinder App. You may even consider getting an alarm clock that mimics daylight.  I love adding in red light therapy/ near infrared light therapy into my morning routine.  *Join “Authentically Live your F.L.O.W.” facebook group to learn about monthly sun challenges.  *Purchase “the 12 Day Pollinator” right here in the SMB shop to learn how to live your F.L.O.W. throughout the entire year.
  3. Eat nourishing foods with lots of vitamins & minerals. Prioritize sources of vitamin D (like fatty fish, sardines and egg yolks), immune boosters like elderberry, fire cider, ACV, colloidal silver, turmeric, ginger, green juices and Green Compass pure CBD from yours truly + consider taking a toxin-free supplement that can promote Optimal WELLthy living. 4. Get Social, Laugh & Smile more. While your instinct might be to retreat during the winter months, participating in a few activities you enjoy and getting out of your comfort zone with others can boost your mood and promote overall well-being. Have fun!! Laughing and enjoying life is the best antidote– it releases healthy hormones, improves mood & helps balance your body systems.
  5.  Ground yourself to the Earth everyday while moving your body!!!  This is the last one on the list, but it is one of the most important tips I can share with you.  Reconnect to your body wisdom and Just Move.
